Current status: Synonym of Haemulon flaviguttatum Gill 1862. Haemulidae: Haemulinae. Habitat: marine.

Richardson. •Valid as Orthopristis reddingi Jordan & Richardson 1895 -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:151 [ref. 22193], McKay & Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995:1166 [ref. 22829], Thomson et al. 2000:124 [ref. 25640], Nelson et al. 2004:145 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:125 [ref. 37547], Tavera et al. 2012:6 [ref. 32469], Page et al. 2013:149 [ref. 32708], Parenti 2019:165 [ref. 37021], Love et al. 2021:163 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Orthopristis reddingi Jordan & Richardson 1895. Haemulidae: Haemulinae. No parentheses are needed around the author and date in the combination Pomadasys bayanus (Art. 51.3.1 of the Code). •Synonym of Pomadasys bayanus Jordan & Evermann 1898 -- (McKay & Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995:1167 [ref. 22829]). •Synonym of Rhonciscus bayanus (Jordan & Evermann 1898) -- (Parenti 2019:172 [ref. 37021]). Current status: Synonym of Rhonciscus bayanus (Jordan & Evermann 1898). Haemulidae: Haemulinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
